Preparation
Step 1
How do you make cranberry morse from frozen berries at home? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Thaw the cranberries ahead of time at room temperature. Use filtered or bottled water - your drink will taste better.
Step 2
Rinse the thawed berries under cold running water. Drain in a sieve and let the water run off.
Step 3
Next, mash the cranberries. You can do it two ways: with a blender or with a wooden pestle. The first way is faster; the second preserves vitamins better. My cranberries were quite firm, so the pestle didn’t work and I used a blender.
Step 4
Now squeeze the juice from the mashed cranberries. Take cheesecloth, fold it into several layers, and squeeze the juice out in small portions. Be careful: the cloth can tear if you press too hard, and then you’ll have a lot of cleanup.
Step 5
Refrigerate the extracted juice.
Step 6
Put the remaining pulp into a pot, pour in cold water, and set it on the stove. Add sugar and stir.
Step 7
Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute, no longer. Leave the pot to cool.
Step 8
Strain the cooled morse - through a sieve or through cheesecloth.
Step 9
All that’s left is to mix the cooked base with the fresh juice. Your berry morse is ready. Serve.
