Preparation
Step 1
Any pear variety will work, but if the pears are naturally very sweet, paired with honey the dessert may taste too sweet - reduce the honey amount if needed. It’s better if the flesh is firm so the pears keep their shape during baking. I used Forelle pears.
Step 2
If you have whole walnut halves, set aside 8 pieces and chop the rest. You may replace walnuts with any nuts you like - pecans, hazelnuts, or pine nuts work very well.
Step 3
Place two walnut halves (stacked together) into the center of each pear half.
Step 4
Place the pears on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Drizzle with honey, sprinkle lightly with ground cinnamon and the remaining chopped nuts. Bake in a 350°F (180°C) oven for 25-30 minutes. The pears should become soft but keep their shape, and the nuts should caramelize slightly.
Step 5
Garnish the finished dessert with mint and serve immediately while hot. You may add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or fresh berries. Enjoy!
