Baked Hand Pies with Minced Meat and Potatoes

Step 1
How to cook delicious pies with potato and minced meat filling that will undoubtedly please many with their taste? First of all, prepare the necessary ingredients and spices for making fluffy, aromatic pies.
Step 2
To make the dough, take a large bowl and pour in 125 ml of warm boiled water, then add one-third of a teaspoon of salt and stir. After that, pour 125 ml of vegetable oil into the bowl.
Step 3
Add 125 g of melted margarine or butter to the bowl.
Step 4
Take a fine sieve and, in portions, sift 500 g of premium wheat flour into the bowl with the liquid base, then add one teaspoon of baking powder.
Step 5
Mix all the ingredients in the bowl and knead the dough with a spatula to the desired consistency, then continue kneading the dough thoroughly by hand in the bowl for about five minutes until smooth.
Step 6
Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a plastic bag for thirty minutes.
Step 7
To prepare the filling, finely chop one onion and put it into a deep bowl, then add to the bowl a mixture of ground black and red peppers, khmeli-suneli, coriander, turmeric, salt to taste and mix all the ingredients together.
Step 8
Add 250 g of prepared minced meat to the bowl with the onion and spices and mix everything very well.
Step 9
Cut 300 g of previously peeled potatoes into small cubes and add them to the bowl, then once again mix all the ingredients in the bowl thoroughly.
Step 10
Add dried parsley, basil and dill to the bowl with the filling to taste, then mix everything again and let the filling sit for a little while.
Step 11
After the resting time, place the dough on the table and knead it lightly, then shape it and divide it into twelve pieces of the desired size.

From each piece of dough, in turn, roll a tight, smooth ball and place the balls on the table.

Flatten each ball into a round flat cake of the required size and put one heaping tablespoon of the prepared filling in the center.
Step 14
Bring the edges of each flatbread together and pinch them well, then shape pies with a small opening in the middle and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 15
Put a small amount of butter into each formed pie, then brush them with beaten egg and place the baking sheet into an oven preheated to 180°C (about 355°F).
Step 16
Bake the pies in the oven for 25-30 minutes until fully cooked and nicely browned.
