Preparation
Step 1
How to bake crucian carp in sour cream in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Clean the fish from scales, remove the head and tail. I use 15% fat sour cream. If the onions are large, one will be enough. If the fish is frozen, thaw it in advance.
Step 2
Rinse the fish thoroughly under running water and pat dry well with paper towels. Season the fish inside and out with salt and spices. I use a ready-made seasoning mix for fish - it’s perfectly balanced and enhances the aroma and flavor.
Step 3
Peel the onions, rinse, and slice into half rings. Use any oven-safe baking dish - glass, metal, or ceramic. Grease the bottom and sides with vegetable oil and spread the sliced onions evenly across the bottom.
Step 4
Place the prepared fish on top of the onions.
Step 5
Generously coat the fish with sour cream and place in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 40-45 minutes. Adjust the time depending on your oven and fish size - these are approximate guidelines.
Step 6
During baking, some juice will release from the fish and onions and mostly evaporate. The fish will turn slightly golden. Remove the dish from the oven and serve the baked crucian carp in sour cream. Optionally, serve with a side of potatoes.
Step 7
The crucian carp turned out incredibly delicious! Enjoy your meal!
