Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients to make a very tasty fruit butter.
Step 2
Remove the cores from the apples.
Step 3
Peel the required amount of apples.
Step 4
Cut the peeled apples (you should have exactly 1 kg / 2.2 lb) into random pieces and place them in a deep bowl.
Step 5
Put 1 kg / 2.2 lb of chopped apples into a large enameled pot (or preserving pan), then add 0.5 kg / 1.1 lb pitted plums.
Step 6
Add 1 kg / 2.2 lb peeled, chopped peaches, then 0.5 kg / 1.1 lb peeled, chopped pears.
Step 7
Add 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb sugar to the fruit.
Step 8
Mix everything well and let stand for 5-6 hours until the sugar fully dissolves and a syrup forms.
Step 9
Place the pan on the stove and cook for 15 minutes over medium heat, stirring so the fruit doesn’t burn.
Step 10
Reduce to low heat and continue cooking for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 11
Add 1 tsp citric acid 5 minutes before the fruit butter is fully done.
Step 12
Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 13
Spoon the hot fruit butter into pre-sterilized jars.
Step 14
Leave the jars uncovered so a protective film forms on top, and let them cool completely.
Step 15
Once cooled, seal the jars tightly with lids and store in a suitable place. Let’s cook together - simply, at home, making the tastiest dishes from affordable ingredients with our recipes! Enjoy your meal and a cozy tea time!
